Brielle’s Lullaby

Brian Beard, my brother-in-law’s grandfather, wrote a beautiful song for Brielle the day we shared that Brielle wouldn’t be staying with us for long. I’m not sure there are words to describe how David and I feel about this wonderful blessing he has given us. We are so happy that Brielle inspired this beautiful song, and we are also saddened that she won’t grow up to know the story behind it. We’re thankful, moved, overwhelmed, encouraged, and in awe of this man and this beautiful, perfect, song for our sweet Brielle Marie.

Hair Day with Brielle

Today Brielle and Mommy went to Perimeter Mall, had lunch with Daddy, and Mommy had her hair done! Brielle had tomato basil soup for the first time and loved it, she did lots of happy kicks! Daddy made sure to love on baby Brielle and then Brielle and Mommy went to DASS to beautify ourselves (Mommy really needed this, because her roots were very bad). Mommy had fun talking with Catalina and Carly while they did her hair and Brielle was such a good girl and didn’t kick Mommy too hard the whole time. Even now she understands the importance of having beautiful hair.

Happy 21st Brielle!

Friday was the beginning of Brielle’s 21st week! We decided to have some fun and celebrate her 21st birthday. Of course we don’t condone infant drinking, so we had root beer and mocktails (the mocktails were not so tasty, in fact horrible). We put party hats on our dog babies (Emmy and Rosie), sang Brielle Happy Birthday, ate pizza, and watched an episode of Cat in the Hat. Later we even had root beer floats! It was a fun night and a good way to have some fun with our baby girl. She even joined in and kicked around a bit while we had our party!

Thank You

David, Brielle, and I are overwhelmed with the amount of love and encouragement we have felt and been shown since we made our announcement. I especially want to thank my College Hill family, my Mother told me today all of the kind words that were given to our family and the prayer led for us and Brielle. We are so encouraged by everyone’s kindness and will never be able to thank any of you enough.

David’s First Father’s Day

Brielle and Mommy planned a special Father’s Day for her Daddy. We planned an evening with Daddy’s favorite dinner and a fun night at Dave and Buster’s!

Brielle’s special skirt for our planned photo booth pictures at Dave and Buster’s. David’s father’s day card and Brielle’s corsage. A wonderful lady at Whole Foods made this corsage special for Brielle when I told her what I needed it for on such short notice. She was so kind and had such wonderful things to say, I’ll always remember her kindness.

Brielle’s happy father’s day picture with her sweet corsage. After our evening out I smelled Brielle’s peony corsage for the first time and and she immediately kicked in response, in fact she had such a happy kick that David even felt her for the first time. This was such a special night for him.

This was our photo booth comedy show. We expected a typical photo booth, but instead we got this weird guided experience without a screen for reference (you can’t even see Brielle’s special skirt!) I balanced precariously on a stool so Brielle was visible and David acted silly with baby Brielle. It was great to get a picture with David really smiling!
